Over the past two years, ArtWallah has had the opportunity to showcase
the work of many South Asian filmmakers. Film shorts -- daring experimentals,
insightful documentaries, and powerful narratives -- are among the most
innovative and raw works of up and coming filmmakers.
Come join the ArtWallah community for an afternoon of shorts, and a
discussion with the makers of the next wave of South Asian cinema. It's
a chance to catch little seen performances of some of your favorite
South Asian actors including "Crossing Jordan"'s Ravi Kapoor,
and "American Desi"'s Purva Bedi and Kal Penn.
The shorts to be screened are listed below. The screening will be followed
by a Q&A with several of the filmmakers and a wine and cheese reception.
The Afternoon of Shorts is $10 per person, with a discounted student
rate of $7. Proceeds will benefit the third annual ArtWallah 2002 arts
festival, which takes place during the last weekend of April (26-28).
